James Lee Witt Associates Taps Area Company For Security Technology Expertise
DURHAM, NC (Jan 31, 2007) – Wesley Clark, the retired four-star general and 2003 presidential candidate, is meeting in the Triangle today with company officials at Knowledge Vector, Inc. (KVI) to announce a formal agreement between KVI and James Lee Witt Associates (JLWA) and to discuss KVI’s pioneering technology that effectively manages masses of information to improve security and regulatory compliance.
Gen. Clark, the former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO forces in Europe, serves as vice chairman and senior advisor with James Lee Witt Associates, a public safety and crisis management consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. JLWA is a part of GlobalOptions Group, Inc. and is led by James Lee Witt, Federal Emergency Management Agency director under President Clinton. Also serving as vice chairman and senior advisor with James Lee Witt Associates is Rodney E. Slater, Secretary of Transportation under President Clinton.
James Lee Witt Associates provides companies with risk assessment, emergency preparedness and crisis management services. Witt Associates has signed a consulting agreement with KVI to assist in providing new markets for its patented software, which extends the practical application of risk analysis and needs assessment with a real-time, rule-based monitoring alert system. Another GlobalOptions Group unit, SafirRosetti, will be providing support to the contract.
KVI’s technology, which will be implemented through an agreement with systems integrator Johnson Controls, Inc., manages information flow in a multitude of ways, especially in emergency management and preparedness, and is easily applicable across multiple systems on a global scale.
By linking standard operating procedures with organizational expertise, KVI’s software clarifies scenarios that can reduce the impact of an event. This is accomplished with programming known as complex event processing, which allows organizations to see the relevance of events early on so that crises can be avoided.
The system constantly monitors all critical events that could affect the operational status of the end user and provides event analysis directly to the responders responsible for taking action.
The technology can be used across the transportation, medical/healthcare, agriculture, financial (including regulatory compliance monitoring), and government/military industries and in city and state infrastructure and emergency management situations.
